Using user authorization and program profiles
User authorization: makes it possible to work with one database and several users, i.e. on one computer, you can run as many instances of the program as there are registered users (cashiers). Sales, stock accounting, etc. maintained in one database, but it is possible to receive reports by users.
User registration: after configuring the program, in the "users" click "add", in the "new user" window that opens, fill in the Name, Password and click OK. The program settings are saved. Now, when users enter the program, the program settings defined for them in the profile will be loaded.
Program profile: this is a collection of settings that is loaded after user authorization. This makes it possible to use more than one database on one computer, i.e. You can use one program to work in two departments, for example, grocery and related products. At the same time, accounting for sales, balances, discounts, product directories, etc. will be different for each department.
To ensure compatibility with previous versions of the program, it is possible to use an undefined profile, this profile is used by the application by default.
ATTENTION! Profile redefinition occurs only at login. The settings that are open in the system configuration form refer only to the current, already loaded profile.
- Before creating a profile, you need to create new synchronization directories (folders) for departments (for example, products). We recommend that you create these folders not on the system drive.
- In the program settings, in the users section, click "add" or "change" an existing user.
- In the "New User" window opposite the "Profile" press "New".
- We enter the name of the profile, we have "products". Click OK.
Attention! Here the program will ask “copy existing settings to new profile”. Click "NO".
A folder selection window will open, in which you must specify the previously created synchronization directory. We have "products". Click OK.
The program will restart.
Now, when different users log in, different databases will be loaded and for each of them you can set different settings.
Existing profiles can be used when defining new users. The number of profiles and users on the local machine is not limited. The restrictions apply to user names, user passwords and user profile names: each value must be unique. It is also undesirable to use special characters "/ - *." in defining these values.
ATTENTION! Profile data is saved in the system registry. After the final configuration, it is recommended to create a copy of the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ CashFront] registry branch:
Start menu> Run:> regedit> open the HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ CashFront section> export> set the file name> ok.
This is related to Windows restore checkpoints. If you load a restore checkpoint earlier than the time of the configuration, the settings data will be overwritten with the values set at the time the checkpoint was saved. A similar situation can occur during an emergency shutdown of the computer when the current user registry fails to save. In the event of a similar situation, it is possible to restore the registry settings from a saved file.
